Karutha Pakshikal – A malayalam classic

with one comment

If you are a malayalam movie fan, and have some time to spare for a quality movie, i would request you to watch this one. Even though malayalam film industry has no shortage for some touching stories, which we can recollect from the legendary list like Kireedam, Vadakkan Veera Gaadha, Chithram, Vaalsalyam, here comes another genius from the great actor in Mammootty !

Known for the class and magical touch in all the family roles he has taken up, this one should take up the center-stage in our adorable ‘Mammookka”s film list. Director Kamal has done his best in drawing the character of a poor man and his commitments and boundaries in a society where money and status stands in between all human emotions and relations. The emotional sequences here are simply the best ones i have ever watched. This movie clearly illlustrates the position such people are given in our society and how their daily life goes unnoticed.

Mammootty’s performance as Murugan in the film will be another milestone in his career, at par with his performances as Achootty in Amaram, Maada in Ponthanmaada and Vaarunni in Mrigaya

‘A’ wonderful ‘Wednesday’ !

Hats off first of all. But im confused to whom i should take the hats off 🙂

Movies like this would really bring about a revolution in indian cinema, i swear. Never before have i seen such a blend of sheer talent combined together in a movie. The actors were the best fit, the director was a born-director i hope, and the sequence was awesome. The highlight is that you wouldnt take your eyes off the screen till the end, believe me you wont !

With the duo Naseruddin Shah and Anupam Gher showing us what actually pure acting is, there was a air of genuinity throughout the one and a half hour of the flick. The story was a never thought of before one and it was one of the best climax one would ever see in world cinema. Based on the frustration of a common man on the growing terror network, this movie is also an eye opener for the public to really go out and fight the terror in their own way.

‘Rock on’ – Keep Rocking

Movies can serve some other purposes apart from just entertainers. They can inspire people, rekindle the hope in them and serve the society, if it has a worthy message and has the talent being a part of it. This movie just falls in that category, a sheer entertainer and a messenger !

I was just blown away after seeing this movie, and was surprised on the existence of such a movie in bollywood where they rate movies on the number of item numbers and the exposure of  the heroines. This would stand on the top list of the hindi movies i have ever seen. Living your dreams and going by the heart is what this one tries to impart on to you, and they have done it wonderfully well.

The music was really soothing to the ears and of course doesnt have any ITEM number 😉 and would resemble watching a oscar winning hollywood movie in all sense. The screenplay, the camera and the locations are simply irresistable.

The Pursuit of Happyness – A worth-watch

with one comment

A Rare movie of its kind

The pursuit of happyness
“You got a dream… You gotta protect it. People can’t do somethin’ themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want somethin’, go get it. Period.
Mysteries, Hardluck, Tragedy…when everything strucks at a time, not every man can withstand that. It pays to show some perseverence and pure character, at times of grave grief and downfall, and that is what exactly Mr. Chris Gardner tries to convey from his life, the character of whom is being gracefully executed by the genius in Will Smith, in this movie.
This movie was for long in my to-watch list and suddenly got a chance to have a luk at it alone in the silence of a vacant workplace 🙂 Seldom could you witness such a graceful execution of a great human’s life onscreen. The sequence, and the emotional flow got the better of me and i was drawed into the onscreen genius in Will Smith as Chris Gardner, who went on to establish an organization, after persevering from the hardships and the mysteries that was his all-time companion and showed the character by protecting his responsibility all along.
This is a must-watch for those aspiring young family-men who are beginning to setup a family and this certainly would pave the base for a confident start in your life. Believe me, this movie just rocks and would remain green for another stage of my life.
